Good first day

Summer session started for me today with class at 7:45 a.m. Most who know me get a bit shocked when I teach such early-morning classes, which I only do in the summer (the sunshine helps me get up and out the door -- oh yeah, I only have to do it for 17 mornings, which now is 16).

My students are lively and interesting: we'll be reading American women writers together, smashing together 16-weeks worth of reading into 6. Yikes.

[Since I titled this "Good first day," I'm going to leave *out* the bad part about my computer taking so long to boot up that I was late for class because I had to print the syllabus. I even got to school 20 minutes early to prep, but that wasn't enough time.]

Kelsie arrived this evening before her 6:10 a.m. flight to Salt Lake City for some vacation. We took a good walk down to Hidden Falls with Maisy, who'd already spent an hour at the dog park, but you wouldn't know given her frenzy to get to the river. She's such a water dog.

Then Kels and I had some snacks at the Chatterbox Pub. Now we're both bushed and ready for bed because we'll be out the door at 5:00 a.m. to get her checked in.
