I'm both mad and sad.
Institutional processes can be, and in this case have been, rigid and unhelpful; they can, and in this case did, disallow the human contact and truthfulness that makes for good human relations and good decisions. I feel as though my hard work has been for naught: not a good feeling.

I'm sorry --- I know there are so many levels of confidentiality that prevent you from discussing the issue-- and that confidentiality can create problems of their own...
All I can say is that y'all know you did a good job with excellent intentions.
